Elon Musk muestra el Tesla Roadster volando a más de 400 millones de kilómetros de la Tierra

El empresario Elon Musk ha anunciado en Instagram el lanzamiento del Falcon Heavy, que podría utilizarse para "misiones tripuladas a la Luna y a Marte".

El inventor y empresario Elon Musk ha anunciado el inminente lanzamiento del cohete Falcon Heavy. Ha asegurado que "si funciona" será el "cohete más poderoso del mundo y el vehículo de lanzamiento de mayor carga para alcanzar la órbita después del cohete lunar Saturno V".

Cuelga un video de tono emotivo y épico, el cual muestra el dispositivo de lanzamiento de la nave espacial, comenzando con una mirada al planeta tierra desde el espacio exterior.

"Si no explota en pequeños pedazos, llevará a Roadster [un automóvil eléctrico Tesla] a más de 400 millones de kilómetros de la Tierra a 11 kilómetros por segundo, en un viaje de mil millones de años a través del espacio profundo", indica el inventor en el texto con el que presenta el vídeo en su Instagram.

Tal como ha confirmado el propio Elon Musk, el Falcon Heavy será lanzado el martes a las 13:30 hora local (18:30 GMT). El cohete despegará desde la plataforma de lanzamiento 39A del Centro espacial John F. Kennedy, en Florida. De acuerdo con el portal Space, el lanzamiento será significativo también por algo nunca antes realizado: el aterrizaje de los tres propulsores de la primera etapa del cohete.

Se prevé que dos de ellos desciendan en zonas de aterrizaje de Cabo Cañaveral tras la separación del núcleo central y queden disponibles para una futura reutilización, mientras que se intentará que el núcleo central aterrice en un buque no tripulado en el océano Atlántico.

Según SpaceX, el Falcon Heavy es capaz de portar a la órbita una carga de casi 64 toneladas métricas, lo que es el doble de la de su rival más cercano, el Delta IV Heavy.
