Guaidó afirma que 'liberó' a excomisario vinculado al golpe de 2002 en Venezuela

Se trata de Iván Simonovis, condenado por los delitos de "homicidio calificado y lesiones personales graves y leves", según sentencia del Tribunal Supremo de Venezuela. Gozaba del beneficio de casa por cárcel.

El diputado opositor Juan Guaidó afirmó este jueves la supuesta liberación del excomisario Iván Simonovis, condenado a 30 años de cárcel por "complicidad necesaria en la ejecución de homicidio calificado consumado" en las muertes de manifestantes, que se produjeron en medio del golpe del 11 de abril de 2002 contra el entonces presidente Hugo Chávez.

Según el parlamentario, la liberación se produjo después de firmarle un "indulto" a Simonovis y tener el apoyo de fuerzas de seguridad "leales a la Constitución", tanto del "Sebin (Servicio Bolivariano de Inteligencia)" como de la "Fuerza Armada", publicó en su cuenta en Twitter. En enero pasado, Guaidó se autoproclamó como "presidente encargado", sin cumplir ningún precepto constitucional, por lo que se cree facultado para emitir remisiones de pena.

Simonovis, quien cumplía arresto domiciliario, fue condenado por la Sala Penal del Tribunal Supremo de Justicia (TSJ) por los delitos de "homicidio calificado, homicidio calificado frustrado y lesiones personales graves y leves".

No obstante, el abogado de Simonovis, Joel García, declaró este jueves a la prensa que los familiares no saben nada de lo informado por Guaidó. Hasta ahora, tampoco ha habido un pronunciamiento oficial por parte de las autoridades venezolanas.

Simonovis sería el segundo opositor, condenado por la justicia venezolana, que es liberado ilegalmente por Guaidó. El primero fue Leopoldo López, condenado a 13 años de prisión por delitos que provocaron la muerte de 43 personas y cientos de heridos, quien fue sacado de su arresto domiciliario el pasado 30 de abril, en medio de una fracasada intentona golpista comandada por el jefe del parlamento y un pequeño grupo de policías y militares desertores. Ahora, ambos están en calidad de prófugos.
