Bolivia despliega más de 8.000 militares en las fronteras para frenar la fuga de alimentos

Bolivia ha desplegado más de 8.000 efectivos militares para reforzar puntos fronterizos y pasos clandestinos en el marco de su lucha por combatir la salida ilegal de alimentos del país, denominada "contrabando a la inversa". Así lo anunció este sábado su presidente, Luis Arce, precisando que se trata de una medida para evitar "el agio y la especulación" y en favor de la "economía de las familias bolivianas".

"Esta semana se decomisaron alimentos como arroz, aceite, azúcar y maíz, entre otros, por un valor superior a 1,5 millones de bolivianos [unos 218.000 dólares]", escribió el mandatario en su cuenta de X.

En octubre, Arce explicó que el contrabando de producción agrícola subvencionada boliviana, la cual tiene un "costo más bajo que en otros países vecinos", estaba "afectando el precio en el mercado interno". Al respecto, en su reciente mensaje, el mandatario aseveró que se está trabajando en coordinación con los gobiernos municipales para garantizar "calidad" y "precios justos".

Esta semana, el Gobierno nacional, como parte de sus esfuerzos por evitar el desabastecimiento interno, informó que mantendrá la prohibición para exportar aceite comestible debido a reportes de problemas en la provisión de este producto. "Hemos solicitado al Comité de Seguridad Alimentaria intensificar los controles en mercados y supermercados para garantizar el al aceite refinado a precio justo a nivel nacional", dijo hoy Arce en su mensaje.

"¡Nuestro Gobierno prioriza el abastecimiento de productos esenciales a precio justo, sancionando el agio y la especulación para cuidar al pueblo boliviano!", concluyó el presidente.
