Europa está comprando gas a Rusia a un ritmo sin precedentes en 2025, apenas unas semanas después del fin del tránsito de gas ruso a través de Ucrania por la negativa de Kiev a prolongar los acuerdos, informó Politico el jueves, citando datos recogidos por la empresa Kpler.

Según el análisis de la compañía, en los primeros 15 días de 2025, los países de la Unión Europea importaron 837.300 toneladas métricas de gas natural licuado de Rusia. En este sentido, el medio indica que "el cese del suministro no ha mermado el apetito de gas de Europa en general". Charles Costerousse, analista sénior de LNG en Kpler, explicó las entregas récord mencionando que "desde mediados de diciembre, ha habido una ola de frío, y la generación de energía eólica no ha estado en su mejor nivel".

Más aun, agregó que "la mayor parte de estos volúmenes son contratos a largo plazo". "Así, la UE no está comprando cargas adicionales en el mercado spot o al contado, sino que está recibiendo estos volúmenes contractuales", sostuvo.
