Un alto mando del pentágono describió el reto del proyecto como "un problema gigantesco de ingeniería de sistemas" y "de integración".

El presidente Donald Trump anunció recientemente la iniciativa Cúpula de Oro (Golden Dome, en inglés), un sistema de defensa aérea, inspirado en la Cúpula de Hierro de Israel, destinado a proteger a Estados Unidos contra ataques de misiles entrantes mediante el desarrollo de una defensa integral contra amenazas avanzadas, incluyendo misiles balísticos, hipersónicos y de crucero.

La Oficina del Subsecretario de Defensa para Adquisiciones y Sostenimiento (A&S) está trabajando con agencias como la Agencia de Defensa de Misiles y los servicios militares para hacer realidad este proyecto, declaró Steven J.
