"Un amigo no te impone arbitrariamente aranceles": China responde a embajador de EE.UU. en México

Pekín calificó de "trucos doble cara" el ofrecimiento estadounidense de cooperación, mientras da "puñaladas".

China salió a hacerle frente al nuevo embajador de EE.UU. en México, Ronald Johnson, luego que este llamara al país latinoamericano a "enfrentar juntos" las "amenazas" que comparten en seguridad, en un mensaje en el que se señala a Pekín.

En concreto, Johnson escribió en X: "No solo competimos con China, hoy enfrentamos amenazas a la infraestructura crítica y la seguridad alimentaria. Desde biopatógenos hasta cadenas de suministro, los retos han cambiado. EE.UU. y México deben enfrentar [los desafíos] juntos como aliados estratégicos y principales socios comerciales".

Ante ello, desde la Embajada de China en México respondieron que "a los trucos 'doble cara' de pintar cooperación mientras dar puñaladas, los amigos mexicanos son totalmente conscientes".

En su mensaje, la representación diplomática del país asiático destaca: "Un amigo verdadero no te saquea forzosamente la tierra, ni te discrimina los migrantes, ni mucho menos te impone arbitrariamente los aranceles". Las palabras hacen referencia a las políticas implementadas durante la nueva istración de Donald Trump, no solo contra México, sino también contra China y otros países.

La representación de Pekín en México considera que la forma debida de tratarse entre los países es con "equidad, respeto, cooperación y ganancia compartida".

En su mensaje, la oficina diplomática cita una frase del prominente político y diplomático estadounidense Henry Kissinger: "Ser enemigo de EE.UU. es peligroso, pero ser amigo es fatal".

La queja de México

Ya desde México, la presidenta Claudia Sheinbaum, había calificado de "injusta" la aplicación del 50 % de aranceles a las importaciones del acero y el aluminio, ordenados por Trump.

"Desde nuestra perspectiva no tiene sustento legal porque hay un tratado comercial. Se está viendo por razones de seguridad nacional de EE.UU. Y ayer mismo la vocera de Casa Blanca dice que 'hay muy buena colaboración en todos los términos con México, incluido el tema de seguridad'. Entonces, no creemos que tenga sustento", dijo al respecto.
