Agentes federales y manifestantes protagonizaron fuertes choques mientras los primeros llevaban a cabo este viernes una redada migratoria en Los Ángeles (California, EE.UU.), según se aprecia en una serie de videos compartidos en redes sociales e informa The New York Times.

Los uniformados, que iban fuertemente armados, llegaron en dos enormes camiones blindados. Pronto se les acercó una multitud de activistas y simpatizantes de los inmigrantes. Tras verlos llevar a cabo su trabajo, algunos manifestantes arrojaron huevos y otros objetos a los vehículos y persiguieron el convoy, que respondió lanzándoles granadas aturdidoras.

Yasmeen Pitts O'Keefe, portavoz de Investigaciones de Seguridad Nacional, dijo que 45 personas fueron detenidas en tres lugares de Los Ángeles al ejecutar los agentes de Inmigración y Aduanas cuatro órdenes federales de registro.

El gobernador demócrata Gavin Newsom se ha pronunciado sobre las recientes redadas contra inmigrantes llevadas a cabo por agentes federales mediante una declaración compartida en este viernes en su página web.

"Las continuas redadas federales caóticas en toda California para cumplir con una cuota arbitraria de arrestos son tan imprudentes como crueles", reza el texto. "El caos de Donald Trump está erosionando la confianza, separando a las familias y socavando a los trabajadores y las industrias que impulsan la economía de EE.UU.", crítica Newson la gestión del presidente estadounidense.

Por su parte, el cónsul general de México en la urbe californiana, Carlos González Gutiérrez, ha confirmado que, de momento, han sido identificados al menos once compatriotas suyos detenidos durante el operativo, recogen medios locales.
